Matthew Levesque's book, "The Revolutionary Yardscape" is a beautiful book to look at and has such wonderful ideas for reuse. Nothing created by Levesque is "made in China". Repurposing items we have all around us is not only good for the environment but also good for the country. Levesque's book show us the way to rethink our environment in a creative and useful way. "The Revolutionary Yardscape" illustrates how we can live beautifully and aware.

The Revolutionary Yardscape is truly a jewel in the DIY genre. I've been wanting to redo my backyard for years and after countless books on the subject this is the only one that has really hit the spot for me. Levesque offers ideas, lists of materials and advice on many outdoor projects that are easy to create with salvaged materials (this means that most of the materials required for the projects are very inexpensive to get if you do not have them already). He gives the reader step by step instructions for reusing every day items and a much lower budget than most of the DIYs out there to create incredible sculptures, completely unique waterfalls (they key chain waterfall, for example, is definitely one of my favorites) and artful lighting for a stunning backyard (or front yard) landscape. If you only buy one DIY or yardscaping book to recreate your outdoor spaces with, this is the only book you need. Well worth the money!

After reading Matthew Levesque's informative, practical and humorous book about using recycled materials to create artful gardents, I have been inspired to look at found objects in new ways and dream big for my blank space yard. Levesque's talents are many and not confined to just creating delightful "rooms" in his yardscapes, but also is able to convey his artistic and practical ideas in a book even a novice can comprehend. His chapter on tools is so enlightening and, in particular, for this newbie with tool phobia. As well, I will never look at a door knob, stove burner center and/or a cemetary core in the sameway after viewing his photographs showing his inventive and functional walkway. If you are interested in helping save our planet, create an amazing garden space, and use your own artistic capabilities in the process, this is the book for you.
